Career Pathways
Various events are organised for students to expand their career/pathways focus. These include all year 12 students participating in a 2 day residential Study Skills Camp at La Trobe University where they receive sessional instruction on Pathways planning, study skills, stress management, presentations from career professionals, tertiary institutes, employments agencies and tour the campus.
All year 12 students participate in a 'Tertiary Information Session' to assist them in their tertiary course applications process. All year 10 students attend the National Careers & Employment Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Individuals and groups attend TAFE Taster sessions, workplace visits and guest speakers come to the college to assist students in their exploration of occupations.
Throughout their secondary schooling all of our students receive a fortnightly publication of 'Career News'. Although this publication is primarily aimed at the senior levels, it provides advice on sources of career information, upcoming events in careers and specific information on individual courses and jobs.
These are just some of the career facilities and activities undertaken and available to our students at Forest Hill College, if you have any queries or want further information please contact Mr. Peter Lucas (College Careers & Pathways Manager).
