Forest Hill College Extra-Curricular Opportunities

Forest Hill College boasts a wide and vast range of extra-curricular activities available to students. From Sport through to the Performing Arts the activities cater for many student interests. I encourage all students to get involved and participate in as many activities as possible.

Term 1

Students can participate in a team sport in Term 1.

Term 1 Sports – Volleyball, Cricket, Tennis, Softball/Baseball

 

Swimming

Sign up for swimming events in Tribe Assemblies. You also have the opportunity to represent the College at Regional, Eastern Zone and State events.

 

Debating

Students can elect to participate in the Debating program.

 

Peer Support Sessions

Year 10 students volunteer to work with Year 7 students to assist a smooth transition into the College.

 

Music

Students have the opportunity to join the Music Program. They  are introduced to a variety of musical instruments that they can learn and are able to participate in a variety of music ensembles  that play at various events both in the school and the local community  throughout the year.

 

IMPACT

Students interested in making an impact around the College and wider community can join IMPACT. Help to organise fundraising events and activities to support various communities. Students from all year levels are welcome to participate.

 

EFS (Elite Fitness Squad)

Are you looking to improve or maintain your fitness levels? Come along to Elite Fitness Squad on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7.45am.

 

Chess Club

Sign up for a competitive game of chess! Competitions are held within the College and some students may be chosen to participate in interschool events. Last year students qualified for State Finals, let’s aim for Nationals this year!

 

College Production Auditions

Auditions will be held for the College Production. Take part in this awesome opportunity.

 

College Representative Netball

Tryouts will be held for female Netballers interested in representing the College at various Netball events including The Victorian Netball Championships and Waverley International Netball Schools Championships.

Students can sign up for events in Tribe Assemblies. Students also have the opportunity of representing the College at Regional, Eastern Zone and State events.

 

Basketball Marathon

Whole school fundraising event planned and implemented by a planning committee. 24hours of basketball! Students can sign up to various planning committees including entertainment, canteen, decorations etc..

 

Maths Competition

Students can volunteer to participate in the Melbourne University Mathematics Competition.

 

Metlink Great Transport Race

Two teams of four students (Year 10) can nominate to participate in a exciting race around the suburbs of Box Hill via public transport.

 

Music

EMR CONCERT- Students have the opportunity to participate in the Eastern Region Combined Schools Concert

 

Global Leadership conference

VCE IMPACT students are invited to apply to attend the World Vision Global Leadership Conference. The conference addresses the issue of global hunger and uses an interactive environment to encourage students to make a difference. The students who attend this conference are expected to lead the implementation of the 40 hour famine throughout the College.

A tribe event where students can participate in one of three items – dance, drama and music.

Test your knowledge of spelling, grammar and comprehension by completing the English Competition. Earn tribe points and challenge yourself.
