Student Wellbeing

Career News follow our BLOGForest Hill College strives to improve opportunities and outcomes for all students. Central to this is the provision of a healthy, supportive and secure environment, and the development of strategies that reduce vulnerabilities, increase coping skills and assist students to become more resilient. Student Wellbeing is viewed as a shared responsibility between school, home and the community.

All teachers share responsibility for student welfare, endeavouring to provide successful experiences for all students and a safe, secure and supportive environment where a sense of belonging and wellbeing are strengthened. The College administration, Year level managers, Student Wellbeing coordinator and an Adolescent Health nurse provide support to the classroom teacher.

Programs are put in place across the school to develop resilience, social skills, conflict resolution and problem solving. These include 'Peer Support' for Year 7 students; student awards presentations; leadership training and experience; and mediation groups.

A Student Code of Conduct provides students, staff and parents with a clear-cut outline of the responsibilities and rights of all students and helps to promote a cooperative and positive environment throughout the College.
